Thomas Carnell Floyd, 68, of Pilot Oak, Ky., passed away at his daughter, Brandi Bryd’s home in Murray, Ky. On Saturday morning, April 22, 2023.
Mr. Floyd was a retired factory worker who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His biggest passion was basketball, being part of it as a local star early in life and following it religiously later in life. Thomas was also of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Floyd is survived by his son, Richi (Angela) Floyd of Cordova, Tn.; three daughters, Brandi (Gary) Byrd of Murray, Ky., Heather (Dannie) Johnson of Steens, Ms., and Amber (Todd) Burwell of Fernandina Beach, Fl.; two sisters, Gaye Floyd Sherlin of Mayfield, Ky., and Carol Floyd (James) Matheny of Fulton, Ky.; and seven grandchildren, Tyler, Kaleb, and Jacob Johnson, all of Steens, Ms., Dylan Floyd of Memphis, Tn., Kaitlyn Floyd, Kayleigh and Khloe Woods and Kenzie Bonner, all of Fernandina Beach, Fl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Carnell “Bill” and Virginia Moutrie Floyd, a niece, Tina Ray; and a nephew, Steven Matheny.
A family planned memorial service for Mr. Floyd will be on Thursday, April 27th, 2023 at the Lebanon Church of Christ in Sedalia, Ky. starting at 11 am with Richi Floyd officiating.
