Alvin Ray Wise

Alvin Ray Wise (Al), age 75, passed away at home on September 29th, 2021, under Mercy Health Hospice Care. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Al served his nation in the United States Army as crew chief on a helicopter ambulance in the 57th Medical Detachment “the original dust off” in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969, and was awarded four air medals, as well as an Army commendation medal with valor. In his life, Alvin was a member of IUOE Local 181 for over 40 years; he also owned and operated his own business, Wise Dozing & Excavating Inc. for 30 years.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Mary Wise; his two children, Nora (Mike) Boyle and James Wise; and his grandson, Michael Alvin Boyle.

Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Wise, and his two sisters, Melba Jenkins and Shirley Opitz.
