Barbara Parker Johnston

Barbara Parker Johnston, 78, of Paducah died Sunday at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. Johnston was a retired beautician and a member of Heartland Worship Center.

Surviving are her husband, Melvin Johnston; one son, Doyan Parker and wife Barbara; and one daughter, Timberly Parker, all of Paducah. Also surviving are one stepson, Roger Johnston of Hogansville, Ga.; one sister, Mary Jordan of Paducah; four grandchildren, Mischelle Farmer, Rachael Krueger, Sheila Goines and Brian Krueger; as well as eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, T.M. Parker Jr., and three sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Glenda Spears and Norma Jean Hammerstrom. Her parents were Rulon and Jewell Dowdy.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lindsey Funeral Home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
