Barney Russell Shockley, 81, of Salem, Kentucky passed away Monday, March 8th, 2021 with his family.
Barney was born in Rosiclare, Illinois on June 5, 1939, to Barney Wilson Shockley and Virginia Marie Shockley. He honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1964. He later retired after 30 years with Northwestern Steel and Wire Company in Sterling, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Brown Shockley; daughter, Brenda Maronde (Jeff); son, Barney Shockley (Karen); sister-in-law, Linda Shockley; sister, Lottie Hvezda, (Nick); sister, Sandra Riffle, (Tom); sister, Virgina Quertermous; brother, James Shockley (Shirley); five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Barney is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Wilson Shockley.
A private family memorial service will be held in honor of Barney at a later date. It was his wish to be cremated and ashes to be buried at Carrsville Cemetery, Carrsville, Kentucky.
