Beverly Kopischke

Mrs. Beverly Mae Kopischke, 79, of Paducah passed away at 2:39pm Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Oakview Nursing Home in Calvert City, KY in the presence of her family.

Mrs. Kopischke was a native of Paducah, KY. She obtained a nursing degree from Murray State University and proceeded to work as a nurse at Riverside Hospital Paducah, Veterans Hospital Nashville and served as a supply advisor to the 8440th Air Force Reserve Recovery Group. After living abroad in Germany, she returned permanently to Paducah in 1971, where she was a small business co-owner of Ko-Star Galleries for 25 years. Upon retirement, she donated much of her time to community and charity activities. In honor of her outstanding service, she was bestowed the titles of Duchess of Paducah and Kentucky Colonel. She was a long term member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and more recently Amazing Grace Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her three sons, Timothy Kopischke of Champaign, IL, Jonathan Kopischke of Dickson, TN, and Brian Kopischke of Kevil; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 46 years, Leslie Kopischke, her father, Audis Bottoms, her mother, Etta Mae Pittilo Bottoms Starr, her Sister Audrey Bottoms Hall, her sister Imogene Bottoms Wadsworth, and her son Anthony Starr.

Following cremation, Memorial Services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 3:00pm at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah. The Rev. Dean Akins will officiate. Friends may visit the family from 1pm until the service hour of 3pm.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or Kosairs Children’s Hospital.
