Bishop Kenneth Wayne Yates

Bishop Kenneth W. Yates, 69, of Paducah passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at his home after long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Bishop Yates was in ministry for 30 years, with the Church of God, Cleveland TN.  A missionary to Guyana, South America for the past 19 years.  Bishop Yates pastored Churches in Paducah, Cleveland, TN., Soddy Daisy, TN. and Juneau, Alaska.  Bishop Yates was a graduate of the Church of God School of Theology, Cleveland, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Yates;  one daughter, Kendra Yates-Franklin; one son, Kenny Joe Yates; five brothers, Bobby, John, Phillip, David, and Tony; three sisters, Kathy Bagwell, Anita Neville and Louise Britt; five grandchildren, Katelynn Norwood, Jonathan Franklin, Jeremiah Franklin, Jacob Ernest Yates, and Lily Grace Yates.

Memorial visitation will be on Tuesday November 26, 2019 at Lindsey Funeral  from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.

Memorial services will be at 7:00pm with long time friend, Bishop Oliver Subryan of Hyattsville, Maryland officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Marcella Yates and one sister, Judy Hines.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Brookport Church of God, 201 East 4th Street, Brookport, Il..62910, for the building of the Wavapoka Chuch of God in Wavapoka Village Essequibo, Guyana, South America
