Bruce Roe Wilkins, 71, of Melber passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Wilkins was the former owner of the Spirit Shoppe in Lone Oak and a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam in the Black Hawk Air Cavalry.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Lynn Wilkins of Melber; one son, Zach Wilkins and wife Heather of West Paducah; three grandchildren, Langston Wilkins, Renner Wilkins, and Eason Wilkins all of West Paducah; one brother, John Neal Wilkins and wife Sally of Paducah; and one sister, Sharon Street of West Palm Beach, Fl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roe Wilkins and Bonnye Wilkins.
Bruce was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and spent much time with his family having frequent Sunday dinners and cookouts. His life was lived to the fullest with never a dull moment. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and was a longtime member of Rolling Hills County Club. Throughout the years, he owned several boats kept on Kentucky Lake and spent many summers on the water surrounded by friends and family. More recently, he and Lynn developed a love for trail riding on horseback and enjoyed weekends in Shawnee National Forest exploring the many beautiful sights and terrain offered in Southern Illinois. Bruce was truly a wonderful person, full of seemingly tireless energy who was always ready for a good time. He will be missed by all of us whose lives he touched.
