Carmel Elton Evans, 80, of Reidland, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, KY.
Carmel was born in Tiline, KY on December 31, 1936 to J. Clifton Evans and Lois Evans. He was a landscaper and owned his own business, Evans Landscaping, before his retirement. He was also a Master carpenter and Master woodworker. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t make grow or nothing he couldn’t build with his hands. He was a master jack-of-all-trades. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He never met a stranger and was loved dearly by his family, friends and all who met him.
He is survived by one daughter, Karmelin Arant and husband, Michael of Ledbetter, sons Craig Evans and fiancé, Tina Garner of Paducah, Anthony Evans and wife, Jessica of Paducah. Three grandsons, Matthew Evans and fiancé, Chelsey Sutton of Ledbetter, Aaron Evans and Austin Evans of Paducah and one great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Evans of Ledbetter. And long-time special friend, Trudy Christian.
Preceding him in death were his parents, J. Clifton & Lois Evans, daughter, Leandra Kathleen Evans, and his ex-wife and best friend, Helen Evans.
There will be a private family graveside service on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Paradise Cemetery in Livingston County. The family requests that contributions may be made to the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Center.
