Cathy Althea Holland

Cathy A. Holland, 73, of Kevil, KY, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 17, 2025. She was born on January 17, 1952 in St. Louis, MO, and spent most of her life in Cape Girardeau, MO, before moving to Kentucky to be closer to family. A devoted mother and grandmother, she was affectionately known as “Nae Nae” by her granddaughters. 

 Cathy dedicated over 50 years to nursing, serving as a supervising nurse and excelling in her field with skill and compassion. She had a gift for caring for others, and her impact on those she worked with and cared for will never be forgotten. 

 Beyond her career, she found joy in the simple things—tending to her beautiful flower garden, where she enjoyed watching hummingbirds visit, and cheering on her favored St. Louis Cardinals. Christmas was her favorite time of year, a season that reflected her warmth, generosity, and love for family traditions. 

Above all, she loved Jesus, and we find peace in knowing she is with Him now. 

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Shelley Key-Byas, and her two cherished granddaughters, Kyndall Byas and Faith Byas.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Orene Woods Holland and William Albert Holland, and her brother, Ronald Holland, whom she loved very much. 

 She is deeply missed but forever remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
