Charles Mead Evans Sr., 79, of Paducah, died Sunday evening, April 16th, 2017 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah. Charles was a retired welder for Paducah VMV. He was an avid tennis player, and was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. He graduated from Augusta Tilghman High School in 1958 and was proud of being a guard for the football team while attending school there.
Charles is survived by three children, Charles Mead (Rhonda) Evans Jr. of Waynesville, N.C., Tracy (David) Hastings of West Paducah, and Nathan (Dana) Evans of Lone Oak; one brother, Larry (Wanda) Evans of Grand Rivers; four grandchildren, Marky Jo Lear, Macey Karnes, Shelby Hastings, and Priscilla Eidson; four great grandchildren, Finley Lear, Charlie Sue Karnes, Traygon Eidson, and Tristin Eidson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his wife of 56 years, Sue Frances Watts Evans; his parents, Thomas Mead and Pearl Teague Evans; two brothers, George and Earl Thomas Evans; and one sister, Jane Ann Robinson.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, April 20th, 2017 from 5 to 8pm at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah. Funeral services will be on Friday, April 21st, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home starting at 11am with Rev. Jeff Wallace officiating. Cremation to follow service.
