Charles Thomas Mitchuson passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 12:08 P.M.
He was 95 ½ years old. He was a World War II infantry soldier in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Alpha Mitchuson; a stepbrother, Ray Chambers; a second brother, Elvin Mitchuson; and an uncle, Guthrie Mitchuson.
Mr. Mitchuson held many jobs. He worked in Detroit at Bower Roller Bearing Division for 23 years where he later retired in 1969. He later went to North Carolina where he worked for 7 years at a maximum-security prison as a correctional officer. He worked many security jobs. He was a past member of Scottish Rite Bodies in Detroit, Michigan and a former scot leader in Pembroke, North Carolina. He was formerly a member at Heartland Worship Center.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Mitchuson; a son, Charles Mitchuson Jr. of North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Teresa (Stormy) Hall of Freemont, Ky; two step sons, Jimmie Smith of Cunningham, KY and Kelly Smith (Tracy) of Bandana, KY; 8 step grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren. He also shared guardianship with his wife of two other children, Rachel M. Carroll and Zachary Carroll.
A private family service was held and officiated by Brother Dale Harell.
Lindsey Fuenral Home is in charge of arrangements.
