Charles Alden Watson

Charles “Charlie” A. Watson, 70, of Herrin, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Integrity Nursing facility in Herrin, IL.

Charlie was a retired Rehabilitation Counselor and amateur Archaeologist. Charlie obtained a BA in Cinema and Photography and also a Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Counseling from SIU in Carbondale. Carbondale was his home for many years. He was an Eagle Scout and served his country in the US Navy. He loved his animals. Charlie marched to his own beat, and was maybe a little unconventional, but he had many friends. He loved collecting arrowheads and being outdoors.

Charlie was survived by one brother, Brooks Watson of Paducah; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles D. “Buck” Watson, and JoAnn Baker Watson; and his beloved dog, Eric the Wonder Dog.

There will be no visitation or services per the families wishes.
