Clifford Alexander

June 20, 1918 — June 27, 2010

Clifford Paul Alexander, 92, of Marshall County died early Sunday morning at Oakview Nursing Home in Calvert City.

Mr. Alexander was a resident of the Illinois Central Fishing Club in Marshall County.

A retired sheet metal worker, Paul was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Gilbertsville and a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite and Shrine.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth (Mary Jo) Alexander of Lexington; two granddaughters, Kathy (David) Espejo of Florence, Ky., and Jenni Alexander of Lexington; one sister, Viola Barefield (a resident at Oakview); seven nieces and nephews; numerous grand-nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Cleo Copeland.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Griffin Alexander; his parents, Clifford and Georgia Alexander; and one brother, Richard Alexander.

Mr. Alexander served on a U.S. Navy submarine chaser in the Aleutian Islands in World War II.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah and Friday, July 2, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 2603 Tatumsville Highway in Gilbertsville. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with interment at Marshall County Memory Gardens. Masonic rites will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
