Clyde Morris Elrod

October 4, 1924 — December 21, 2017

Clyde Elrod, 93, of Kevil passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Life Care Center in LaCenter.

Mr. Elrod was the former owner of Tele-Service and Central Service. He was a member of the Kevil United Methodist Church.  He was a Kevil City Councilman and very involved in the both state and local levels of the Democratic party. He was formerly chairman of the Purchase Area Development District, a member of the Paducah Area Community Reuse Organization, Ballard County Industrial and Economic Development Board, and the Western Kentucky Workforce Investment Board.

He was widely traveled, but his biggest adventure was when he flew a twin engine plane around the world.

Surviving is his wife of 72 years, Doris Elrod of Kevil; and one daughter, Gaye Brewer and husband Rick of Paducah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Elrod and Catherine Covey.

Memorial service will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Kevil United Methodist Church with the Rev. Matt Thomas officiating.

Friends may visit the family from 1:00pm to service hour on Sunday at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to Kevil United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
