Dale G. "Scotty" Scott

Dale G. “Scotty” Scott, 76, died on Friday, October 14th, 2016 at 5:57am, at his home located at 12365 Hwy 60 West, in Kevil, Kentucky. He was born May 7th, 1940 in Mistic, Iowa as the son of William H. Scott and Hallie Ester Cox Scott.
Scotty served honorably in the United States Air Force and retired as Tech Sergeant in 1981 having received several medals and commendations for exemplary service.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Letha Mae Cooper Scott; two daughters, Wanda L. Lathrop of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Bobbie J. Winters of Kevil, Kentucky; three sons, Gary L. Scott of Ottumwa, Iowa, Anthony W. Abernathy of Cameron, Texas, and Darrell L. Abernathy of Kevil, Kentucky; and his greatest pleasure was to enjoy his 21 grandchildren, and 42 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Sidney Ray Abernathy; and by fourteen siblings, his twin Gale, Dorothy, Twins Darlene and Geraldine, Paul, Richard, Marshall, Sharon, Karen, Marcia, Myra, Lois, and Carl.
A memorial service for Dale will be held at the Kevil First Baptist Church in Kevil, Kentucky on Monday, October 17th, 2016 at 2pm with Dr. Stewart Strickland officiating. Visitation will proceed service from 1pm until the service hour.
