Daniel Franklin McDonald

December 6, 1939 — September 26, 2019

Daniel Franklin McDonald, 79 of Metropolis, Illinois, formerly of Bourbonnais, Illinois, passed away at 4:10 p.m. Thursday September 26, 2019 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah.  Surrounded by his family.

Daniel was born on December 6, 1939 in Illinois the son of Oscar and Bess McDonald.  He graduated from Eldorado High School and went on to retire from  J. R. Short Milling Company, Kankakee, Illinois.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife Phillis.  He loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears play.  He enjoyed working in his yard and always had a garden.  He never met a stranger, and had many friends.  He was of  the Catholic Faith.  He attended his church Maternity Catholic Church. Bourbonnais, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife, Phillis McDonald of 42 years.  One son, Daniel Kevin ((Debbie) McDonald of Lone Oak.  One step-son Michael  (Dee) Osenglewski of St. Anne, Illinois.  Two daughters, Lisa (Richard) Wedeking of Metropolis; Jane Galbraith of Owensboro, Kentucky.  And one sister, Alma Jean Harris of Galatia, Illinois.  Grandchildren; Brandon (Jessica) Holt of Lone Oak, Amber Campbell of Big Rock, TN., Quentin (Niqua) Galbraith of Metropolis, IL.  Caleb Darnell of Paducah.  Great grandchildren, Alisa, Alona Breona, Bradon, Kohutta, Mallory, Audrey and David.  Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Andrew Wilkins

In accordance with Mr. McDonalds wishes he will be cremated.  A memorial service for family will be held at later date.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah, 1530 Lone Oak Road, Paducah, Kentucky  42003
