David Howard Purcell, 80, of the Hardmoney community in Graves County, KY, passed from this world to his heavenly home on February 16, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.
David was born and raised in Hardmoney and farmed all his life. He enjoyed taking care of his cattle, sheep and goats. He loved going to the farmers market with the vegetables he grew on his farm every summer. For many years he owned and ran Purcell’s Fish Farm, where the community enjoyed catching farm raised catfish. David loved his time at home with his family and animals, especially his beloved dog, Rae Rae.
He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Dorothy Purcell and brother Carl Purcell.
David is survived by his wife of 37 years Fran (Graham) Purcell; three daughters, Tammy Guess, Shea Anne Harris (Paul) of Orlando, Florida, Regan Newby (Danny) of Symsonia, KY; one brother, Roy Purcell of Hardmoney; grandchildren, Amanda, Cody, McKayla, Sean, Derek and Taylor and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
David was a member of Gospel Mission Church in Reidland and also loved his church family at Hardmoney Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Hardmoney Baptist Church with Bro. Faris Sahawneh officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may visit the family from 10:00am to service hour on Wednesday at the church.
