Deborah Kay Jones

Deborah K. Jones, lovingly known as Debbie, was born on November 24, 1954, in Joiner, Arkansas. She passed away at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky on July 20, 2024, with her daughter Carrie and her nurse Tina by her side. 

Debbie was raised in Joiner, Arkansas and moved to Kentucky as a teenager, with her family. She graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1973. After graduating, she helped her parents at their business, D&L Bumpers, where she ran a local route and assisted in the office until she became disabled due to a long history of heart complications. 

Debbie is survived by her beloved daughter, Carrie Gibson (Dustin Duckett); her brother, Ron Jones (Susan); her sister, Donna Davis; brother-in-law, Orion Osborne; and one grandson, Bub Duckett. She also leaves behind three nieces, several great-nieces and great-nephews, one great aunt and many cousins. 

 She was predeceased by her parents, Donald “Bumper” and Lynn Jones; her sister, Jackie Smithey Osborne; her uncle, Jack Tinsley; her brother-in-law, Curtis Davis; and her niece, Tammy Crane.

 Debbie had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying flowers, hummingbirds, yard sales with her sisters, and drives with her mother. She loved creating works of art with a paintbrush, showcasing her skills. She cherished her family immensely and recently found a new circle of friends who became like family to her and Carrie during her stay at Calvert City Nursing & Rehab.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes placed with her parents by her family in a private service, at a later time. 

Debbie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Calvert City Nursing & Rehab and Baptist Health Paducah. 

Debbie will be deeply missed and treasured by all that loved and knew her.
