Dennis Ray Henderson

Dennis Ray Henderson, 74, of Metropolis passed on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Southgate Nursing Home in Metropolis.

Dennis was born on June 6, 1946 in Metropolis, IL. He was a person who loved being around people. He was a quiet person but loved by everyone. He was a special brother. He graduated from Franklin School in 1960 before attending Metropolis High School where he graduated in 1966. He worked at Bee Chemical in Lansing, IL for over 40 years. Dennis married Janet Biggs on June 1, 2002. They loved vacationing in Florida together. The love of his life passed away on Thanksgiving night 2019.

Surviving is one sister, Mary Helen Henderson Hetzel and husband, Fred; two nephews, Paul Hetzel and wife, Melissa, William Henderson and wife, Bennetta; five nieces, Sheila Henderson, Lisa Ann Stevens, Shawna Larrison and husband, Ricky, Didi Jerdon, and Amanda Henderson; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Hester Keef Henderson; two brothers, Paul Eugene Henderson and William “Bill” Henderson.

Memorial services will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Lighthouse Assembly of God with the Rev. Mark Russell officiating.

Friends may visit the family from 10:00am to service hour on Saturday at the church.
