Dianne Matthews (Pope) was born to Helen and Ellie Matthews Jr. on September 20, 1954 in Nashville, TN. She attended Tennessee State University located in Nashville. She had an opportunity to train as a Health Physics Technician (HPT) at Browns Ferry Tennessee.
Dianne, which she liked to be called, worked as an HPT for several years. She had an affinity for shoes, makeup, hats, purses, and roses. She developed “Dianne’s Private Collection” and held makeup parties in Knoxville, Tennessee. She later opened a boutique in Aiken, SC. Dianne and her husband Al relocated to Paducah, KY, where she started a hair product business in neighboring Cairo, IL. Dianne loved needle point, knitting, playing pinochle, watching sci-fi, roses and soap operas.
Dianne leaves behind to cherish their time together, her loving husband Albert Pope, her three sons, Montoya (Shannon) Gunn of San Diego, CA. Entonio Gunn of Bakersfield CA. and son Robert (Andrea) Gunn of Detroit, MI. sister Norma (Phillip) Borom of Atlanta, GA. Granddaughters, Kennedy Dianne, Jordine Marie, Sierra Danielle, and a host of in-laws, family and friends.
Dianne was loved and surely will be missed.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the MS Foundation in the name of Dianne Pope.
