Donald Ray Adcock

Sgt. Major Donald Ray Adcock, 87, of Paducah, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Baptist Health Hospital.

Don was born July 23, 1936 in Henderson, Kentucky. He retired from the Marines after 31 years of service including two tours in Vietnam, five tours in Okinawa, Japan, and one tour as a drill instructor in San Diego, California. He also served one tour of embassy duty in Rota, Spain.

Don is survived by his wife, Claudia Adcock of Paducah; three daughters, Deloris Driskell of Georgia, Cynthia Evan of Georgia, and Diana Lind of California; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Kim (Roy) Henderson and Van (Jennifer) Vannerson; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Sgt. Major Adcock will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Lindsey Funeral Home at 12:00 pm. Friends may visit the family from 11:00 am to service hour.

Burial will follow at a later date at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
