Donald Louis Harper

Donald Louis Harper, 80, of Paducah, formerly of Metropolis passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Harper was retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections and was a member of St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Harper of Paducah; two daughters, Karen Marie Harper of Miami, FL, Lynn Louise (Gregory) Burmester of St. Louis; three sons, Donald Mark (Karen) Harper of Dixon, TN, Michael Robert Harper of Jackson, MO, John Gerard (Rosie) Harper of Columbia, MO; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Hillas Harper and Nelle Rubina Williams Harper; and one sister, Dorothy Terry.
Memorial Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church with Fr. Bruce McCarty officiating. Inurnment will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family from 10:00am to service hour on Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Cope Food Pantry in Metropolis or to St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry in Paducah.
