Dorothy Gray

Dorothy “Dot” L. Gray, age 82, of Oregon, Wis., formerly of Smithland, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009, with her son, Ed, by her side at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wis.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Edwin, and daughter-in-law, Carol, of Oregon, Wis.; grandson, Justin, and his wife, Maria, of Madison, Wis.; granddaughter, Ashley, of Milwaukee, Wis.; daughter-in-law, Debra Gray, of Arlington, Mass.; grandson, Sean, of Arlington, Va.; granddaughter, Meaghan, of Manhattan, N.Y.; and her beloved cat, Tina.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Merrick; her son, Steven; her brother, Leonard; and her parents, Mallie and Prentice Patillo.

She was a loving wife, beloved mother, proud grandmother, exemplary mother-in-law and friend to many. Dorothy always had a positive outlook on life.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah. Private burial services will follow at Paradise Cemetery.
