Edna Sanders

Edna D. Sanders, 87 of Paducah died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 5:55 pm at Lourdes Hospital.

She was a member of St. Frances de Sales Church. She previously worked at Claussner Hosiery Mill, Paducah Dry Goods and the S&H Green Stamps Store, where she was the manager. She was a Life Member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1191, where she served as president for many years, and was a member of Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 31.

Edna is survived by her son, Charles Michael “Hoppy” Sanders and wife Wanda of Paducah; granddaughter Edna “Boog” Jarvis and husband Mark of Boaz, KY; grandson Charles Michael Sanders Jr. of Paducah; step grandson Anthony Servantes of Hernando, MS; great grandson Jerry Ray Gipson of Boaz, KY; three great granddaughters, Beverly Carter and husband Patrick of Fancy Farm, KY, Mica Sanders and Savannah Sanders of Tiline, KY; and two nephews from Michigan. She also leaves behind a special cousin and friend, Sue Catiller and husband Don of Paducah. Another special friend she leaves behind is Mabeleen Gipson.

Edna was born August 23, 1923 to Titus N. and Mae E. Davis of Paducah, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Titus Davis; her sister, Nellie Canup; and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Lindsey Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 1, 2011 with Rev. Topper Council officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
