Edward Joseph Flynn 80, of Almo, Kentucky, died at the McCracken Hospice following a long siege of laryngeal cancer and Parkinson's disease on June 19, 2017. He is survived by hi loving and devoted wife Janet Meredith Donaldson Flynn, Two sons; Kevin and E.J. Flynn of New York state. One daughter, Kelly Herron of New York state. Two sisters Patricia Michael of Napa, Ca. and Sally Conroy of High Point, NC. And many dear friends in the Paducah and Murray areas.
He was born in New York City July 22, 1936 and graduated from Pelham High School, Pelham, New York. He then served 2 year in the United States Navy and attended New York University. He was an Atlantic commercial fisherman, a sea captain for 23 years for Mobile Oil Company. He was also employed with Pinpoint Systems in Paducah before retiring and moving to Almo, Kentucky.
Mr. Flynn spent the majority of his adult life on the water in several capacities and lived many summers in Grand Bank and Point May, Newfoundland, Canada with his wife Naomi Malm Long Flynn, where she died in 2007.
Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
