Ellis Henson

On Saturday, April 30, 2106, Ellis Earl Henson, 86, passed from this world to be with his Lord and Savior at his Reidland, Ky. Home surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Ellis was a member of Salt and Light Community Church in Paducah, Ky, a member of Symsonia Masonic Lodge #917, a retiree of Illinois Central Railroad, a U.S. Army veteran, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ellis loved to travel, hunt and fish.

Ellis leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Betty Jane Henson; his daughter, Angee Shellman of Reidland; two sons, Tandy (Becky) Henson Symsonia, and Tom (Ann)Henson, of Symsonia; five grandchildren, Chris Kincannon of Reidland, Tannette (Brent) Weitlauf, of Benton, Scott (April)Henson of Benton, Jessica (Richard) Gossom, of Symsonia, and Sonya (Clint) Copeland, of Symsonia; thirteen great grandchildren, Kheilenn Weitlauf, Brent Weitlauf Jr., Jared Lutz, Dalton Kincannon, Peyton Weitlauf, Blake Graham, Zac Graham, Ava Shimkus, Mya Shimkus, Drew Gossom, Nathan Gossom, Kaitlyn Gossom, and Addy Gossom; his brother, Rollie Nelson Henson of Benton; his sister, Relma Lee Swearingen of Reidland; and several nieces and nephews.

Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie Newton Henson and Tylene Duncan Henson; brother in law, Russell Swearingen; and nephew, Richard Henson.

Services for Ellis Henson will be Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016 at Salt and Light Community Church on 155 Pugh Rd. in Paducah, Ky. Visitation will begin at 10am with Masonic Rites at 1pm and funeral service to follow thereafter. A private burial will be at Henson Cemetery in Symsonia.
