Elwanda Walker

Elwanda Walker, age 57, of Benton, Ky. passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 12:08p.m. at Lourdes Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Lindsey Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Blagg officiating. Burial will follow in Fooks Cemetery in Possum Trot, Ky.

Elwanda was the owner and operator of Blue Haven Beauty Shop in Reidland, Ky. for 35 years. She loved to work and was known for the red velvet and carrot cakes she made. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a great friend to all who knew her.

Elwanda is survived by her husband of nearly 9 years, Howard Walker; one son, Benjamin Ray Culp of Smithland, Ky. and one grandson, Cayden Culp, several cousins and one uncle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Emma Lou (Sullivan) Fowler Crawford

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5p.m. until 8pm at Lindsey Funeral Home and again Friday from 8am until the funeral hour.
