Feltner "Peavine" Travis, 91 of Paducah died 11:15am Wednesday at his home.
He was a native of Gilbertsville, KY, a member of Southland Baptist Temple, a WWI I U.S. Army Veteran where he served under the Combat Engineers during WWII, a retired welder for Paducah Sheet Metal and a member of Metalworkers Union Local 110 of Louisville.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Travis, 1 daughter, Brenda Gail Powell and husband Bobby of Kevil, 1 son, Ronald "Ronny" Travis and wife Jennifer of Paducah, 1 grandson, Shaun Powell of Kevil, 1 granddaughter, Amy Henderson and husband Russell of West Paducah, 1 nephew, Larry Warren of Sharpe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thesdie and Sylvia Rice Travis, a son, Thomas "Tommy" Travis, a granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Travis, 1 sister and 1 brother.
Military graveside rites will be 1:30pm Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah. Rev. Topper Council officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Lindsey Funeral Home.
