Fred A. Meadows, 91 of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Paducah, passed away August 11, 2012 in Vero Beach.
A U.S. Navy World War II veteran, Mr. Meadows retired after 33 years with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. After retirement, he worked at Textile Company in Paducah. He was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church in Paducah and American Legion Post 39, and was a former member of the Paducah Southside Boys Club.
Surviving are one son, Fred (Marj) Meadows of Bloomington, MN; two daughters, Vicky (Steve) Savage of Vero Beach, FL and Beth (Bruce) Elle of Sebastian, FL; one sister, Martha Brooker of Waukesha, WI; and eight grandchildren, Todd (Lara) Meadows, Barbara (Randal) Ahnes, Greg Meadows, Michael (Echo) Fredley, Jim (Terry) Fredley, Jodie Fredley, Jesse Mitchell and Lauren Mitchell. His great grandchildren are Alex Ahnes, Aaron Ahnes, Victor Meadows, Hunter Meadows, Jared Fredley, Bonnie Fredley, Peter Fredley, and Quinn Fredley. He also leaves behind nine nieces and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Pat Meadows; two brothers, Robert and Richard Meadows; and three sisters, Ethel Mathis, Laura Tucker and Betty Ray. His parents were George and Bennie Meadows.
Services will be 1:00pm Friday at Lindsey Funeral Home, with Bro. Royce Dukes officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 11:00am until the funeral hour, at Lindsey Funeral Home.
