Gerald Boyes

Gerald, “Bear” Boyes, 73, and Billie Jean Potter, 67, both of Paducah, died Monday morning, April 11th, 2016 at their home in Paducah.

Gerald was a retired teamster for Holland American. He was an avid biker, and a very generous person. He loved the outdoors & fishing, playing with their pets, and especially spoiling the grandchildren.

Billie was a retired waitress who loved being one. She also loved the outdoors, playing with their pets and spoiling the grandchildren with Gerald. Most of all she loved being the caretaker of Gerald. She waited on him hand and foot.

Gerald is survived by his step mother, Norma Boyes. He is preceded by his son, Greg Boyes; and his father, Harold Boyes.

Billie is survived by her children, Don (Jeanene) Potter of Paducah, Holly Pichardo of Aurora, Il., and Paul Gurley of Aurora, Il.; one brother, Terry Lindley of Grand Rivers; seven grandchildren, Donny Potter Jr of Paducah, Jessica Curry of Chicago, Il., Olivia Potter of Paducah, Chance Potter of Paducah, Angie Brown of Paducah, Brandon Szabo of Pontiac, Il., and Elana Perez of Aurora, Il.; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billie was preceded by her parents, Bill Armstrong and Nancy Byford Horvat.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, April 29th, 2016 at Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah from 5 to 7pm. Memorial services will start at 7pm on Friday following visitation with Brother Jerry Pullen officiating.
