Gerald Walter Skees, 80, of Metropolis, IL., passed away Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at his son Wade’s home in Paducah. He was born on December 1, 1936 in Albion, IL. to Walter and Mary Balding Skees. Gerald served in the US Army for 2 years. He was a farmer in Massac County for several years, then retired from Laidlaw Corp. in 1997 after 24 years of service.
Gerald is survived by three children, one daughter, Allison (Jerry) Underwood of Hilliard, FL., two sons, Eric (Brenda) Skees of Metropolis, and Wade Skees and Fiancee Susan Walker of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Mollie Bell, Peyton Skees, Morgan Skees, Cameron Skees, Sydney Skees, Amelia Underwood, and Griffin Underwood; two great grandchildren, Ava Bell and Colt Bell; one sister, Betty (Gene) McKinney of Albion, IL.; and one nephew, Larry McKinney
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gene Skees,
