Gregory Alan Chaney, 59, of Paducah passed away on Saturday, December 23rd, 2023, at his residence.
Greg was born in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in Ballard County, KY where he loved to fish, hunt and golf. He was a remarkable soul who embraced life with passion and humor. Greg also left an indelible mark as a high school football star at Ballard Memorial High School. Greg retired from General Tire as a trustee for USW Local 665 and a Union Steward for Local 1214. Greg exemplified true union spirit and camaraderie.
Greg was a die-hard University of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball fan. His enthusiasm for the game knew no bounds. He lived his life adventurously finding joy in sky diving, water skiing, bowling and riding his Harley. His infectious sense of humor brightened the lives of those around him.
Greg's love for his family was boundless and unwavering. His great niece and nephew encompassed his world and kept him young at heart.
Surviving are his two sisters Claudette Chaney of Paducah and Rhonda (Charles) Beringer of Kevil; two nieces, Robyn Bickerstaff and Rachael Bickerstaff both of Paducah; one great-niece, Briah Cook; one great-nephew Brandon Cook; and his lifelong best friend/brother James (Sherri) Agers.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Betty Jean Chaney; and one brother, Robert Chaney.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at Lindsey Funeral Home from 4:00pm-6:00pm
