Hurley Dawes

Hurley Dawes, age 83, of Paducah died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at his residence. A private family memorial was held.

Mr. Dawes was a World War II veteran. He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 50 years. He was the 1st volunteer fireman on the Reidland/Farley Fire Department. He retired as a truck driver from TVA-Land Between The Lakes.

Hurley is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lucy Geneva; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Dawes of Paducah; two grandsons, Darrick Ray Dawes and Kevin Ryan Michael Dawes, both of Paducah; and one sister, Pansy Story of Marshall County, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Louie (Peck) Dawes; and three brothers.

Visitation will be from noon until 1p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2009.
