James Nicholas Emerson

James “Nick” Emerson, 43, of Hardin, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Nick, also known to some as Red, was a loving husband, father, grandpa, son, and brother. He enjoyed spending all the time he could with his family. Nick was a contractor for many years. He was a jack-of-all-trades in many different areas of life. He loved being outdoors whether he was camping or fishing. Nick loved all things basketball, including playing it. He was also an artist. Nick attended Southside Baptist Church.

Nick is survived by his wife, Alison Emerson; two children, Alex (Riley) Hamlet and Kristen Emerson; his mom, Toni Emerson; one granddaughter, Allie Hamlet; one sister, Lila Williams; his grandmother, Janella Reid; aunts and uncles, Kerry (Barbara) Thompson, Krista Mallory, and Rick Davis; in-laws Nathan and Peggy Tucker, Richard Thompson, and Jim Volkner; brother-in-law, Derek (Melissa) Thompson; six nephews, one niece, and several cousins and great aunts and uncles.

Preceding Nick in death is his grandfather, Eddie Thompson, and his aunt, Amy Thompson.

A memorial service for Nick will be held Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Lindsey Funeral Home with Bro. David Hendon and Bro. Josh Baker officiating.

Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 1:00 pm to service hour.
