James "Jimmy" Jones

James “Jimmy” Jones, 77, of Paducah, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Baptist Health Hospital.

Jimmy graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1965 and attended Murray State University. He married Janice Lotz on November 29, 1965. Jimmy was an electrician for the IBEW Local 816, where he retired from after 46 years. He also worked as a dairy farmer for many years. Jimmy was a member of New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice Lotz Jones; three children, Bryan Thomas (Sarah) Jones, Angela (Lance) Byerly, and Tracy (Chris) Moss; one sister, Marilyn (Greg) Gross; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Allie Marie “Dink” Rushing Jones; one brother, Edward “Eddie” Arlie Jones; and one niece, Tammie Jones Stom.

A funeral service for Jimmy will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Lindsey Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mount Kenton Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family from 11:00 am to service hour on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cassidy’s Cause in his honor.
