Jimmy Nelson

Jimmy Rudell Nelson, age 59, of Fairdealing, Kentucky, left his earthly body to be in the presence of the Lord on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10:06 am.

First and foremost, he was the most loving and devoted dad and papa to his children and grandkids. He was a fun and sweet spirited uncle, and a lover of all children. He was loved by all who were blessed enough to be a part of his life here on earth. He loved UK basketball, fishing, and could fry fish better than anyone we knew. He loved the simple things in life and has left his mark on all of us who loved him.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Destiny (John) Hasselmann of Nebraska; son, Devon Collins of Symsonia, KY; daughters, Delany Collins and Ainsley Greenfield of Paducah, KY; his grandchildren, Sebastian and Haven Collins, and Uriah and Jase Hasselmann; sisters, Jan (Kerry) Bowerman, Sheila (John) Pace, and Gail (Roy) Franks of Benton, KY; brother, Danny (Susan) Nelson of Benton, KY: and many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Johnie and Imogene Nelson; his brother, Randy Nelson; one great nephew, Noah; and one grandchild, Jaiden.

There will be a Celebration of Life and potluck scheduled for Labor Day weekend at Impact Church in Benton, KY for family and close friends.
