Jody Smith, 55 of Paducah, passed away Tuesday July 16, 2024 at his home.

 The curtain has fallen on our dear friend Jody Smith, but he has left a legacy of kindness and creativity we’ll always hold close to our hearts. Jody was one of the gentlest people you could ever meet—so warm and thoughtful, with such a curious and creative spirit, he was beloved by all who knew him. He was a news producer in Paducah for years, caring deeply for the community he served. But he was perhaps better known for his decades-spanning involvement in local theater, regularly showcasing his impressive gifts as an actor and versatile performer. He was a movie-lover, a great conversationalist with an indomitable sense of humor, an intelligent artist, a devoted friend, and, above all, a wonderful human being. He will be deeply, deeply missed.
