Joseph Elwyn Throgmorton, 89, of Grahamville passed away on Sunday March 16, 2014 at Baptist Health in Paducah.
Mr. Throgmorton was a pipefitter and member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184 for 63 years.
He was also a member of the Newton Creek Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge in Grahamville, and a US Navy Veteran. He was also an avid hunter.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Claribel (Gibson) Throgmorton; two sons, Larry Joe Throgmorton of Grahamville, Jerry (Pam) Throgmorton of Grahamville; four grandchildren, Jenny (Jason) King of Akron, OH, Charlie (Jamie) Throgmorton of Clarksville, TN, Lauri Jo (Steve) Thompson of West Paducah, Kelli Throgmorton of Paducah; two great-grandchildren, Bradley Throgmorton and Blake Throgmorton both of Clarksville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Nellie Throgmorton; and one brother.
Service will be at 11:00am on Thursday March 20, 2014 at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Newton Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah.
