John E. Cissell

John E. Cissell 88, of Paducah passed away Wednesday November 23 at Superior Care Nursing.  He worked for and retired from IC and P&L Railroad.  He later worked for Triangle Insulation and retired after many years.  John is survived by two sons,    John “Johnny” Cissell Jr.; and Lynn Martin Cissell both of Paducah.  One Brother, Bob Cissell, Birmingham, AL.; two sisters Norma (WJ) Word and Brenda (Joe) Dahl both of Paducah.  He was also uncle to Teresa Wilson of Atlanta, GA.; Duncan and Kevin Cissell of Birmingham, AL.;  Michael Word and Mary (Mickey) Ellis, ;  Joseph Cissell III and Karen Walker, all of Paducah.  Heather Kelly of Phoenix AZ.

John will be missed by friends he came to know at Paducah’s riverfront where he could be seen every day feeding the birds bread from Kirchoffs.   He became known as “The Bird Man”

John was preceded in death by his parents, Mayme (Beyer) and J Roscoe Cissell.  One brother Joseph R. Cissell Jr.

Visitation will be Monday from 9 am to 12:30 at Lindsey Funeral Home.  A Funeral Mass to follow at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church at 1 p.m.   With Father Bruce McCarty officiating.  Burial to follow at Mt Carmel Cemetery.   On-line condolences may be left at www.lindseyfuneral.com
