John “JR” Muncher, 58, of Benton passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Baptist Health Paducah.
John was a retired Port Engineer from Ingram Barge Company. He was a Member of Calvert City United Methodist Church and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He loved the Lord and spending time outdoors.
Surviving are two sons, Jonathon Wayne (Muriel) Muncher of Greenville, MS and Jason Glen (Amanda) Muncher of Kuttawa; one stepson, Christopher (Ashley) Kimes of Starkville, MS; his father, John Muncher Sr of Greenville, MS; one brother, Garon Glenn (Lori) Muncher of Greenville, MS; one sister, Sheron (David) Burford of Greenville, MS; one sister-in-law, Vicki Muncher of Cottondale, AL; and four grandchildren, Savannah, John Warner, Jackson, and Peyton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Muncher; and one brother, Richard Wayne Muncher.
Memorial service will be at 1:00pm on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Calvert City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gregory Waldrop officiating.
Friends may visit the family from 12:00pm to service hour on Sunday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital at 2200 Children’s Way Nashville, TN 37232.
