Joseph Watson, of Symsonia, Kentucky, entered this world on March 19, 1952 with his twin brother by his side and left this world surrounded by his family on February 12, 2024.
Born in Joliet, Illinois to Charles Bradley Watson and Virginia Brycen Watson, who precede him in death. Joseph was an engineer for American Electrical Power where he spent more than 30 plus years before retiring in 2019. Since then, he has traveled with his wife of 42 years, Virginia “Jenny” Watson, spending lots of time in the mountains, discovering caves, fossil hunting, fishing, enjoying fireworks of the Fourth of July, and mapping the stars.
When he wasn’t searching for new adventures, he spent time visiting his daughter, Jessica (John) Kirchner and granddaughter, Kailey Paige Kirchner on the Gulf Coast. He admired classic cars on his way to visit his son Ricky (Kelly) Watson and grandkids, Keagan Charles-Bradley Watson, Emma Reece Nelson, and Taylor Payton Watson on the East Coast.
The youngest of five brothers, Joseph was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Charles Wilfred Watson. He is survived by Edzel Eugene Watson, William Bradley Watson, and his twin, Richard Watson, along with several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private Celebration of Life for the family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations and prayers to the Mercy Health Hospice.
