Kenneth Marcus Cooper known as Marcus Cooper, 87, of Paducah went to heaven on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.
Mr. Cooper was the former mechanic of J.W. Cooper’s Garage and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his family, walking, being outdoors, and UK basketball. In his younger days he was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved tennis and in high school was all-state football player for Paducah Tilghman.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Opal Cooper of Paducah; one daughter, Tammy (Mike) Zimmerman of West Paducah; one granddaughter, Rachel (Chad) Wright of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Marcus Cooper; four brothers, Earl Cooper, J.W. Cooper, Charlie Cooper, and Ralph Cooper. His parents were William and Mary Belle Cooper.
Friends may visit the family 11:00am to service hour on Saturday at the church.
Memorial services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Susan Engle officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Trinity United Methodist Church at 6125 Blandville Rd. Paducah, KY 42001.
