Kenneth "Skip" Oettel

Kenneth “Skip” Oettel, 86, of Kuttawa, passed away Sunday, December 29, at Rivers Bend Retirement Community.

Skip owned and operated a speed shop in Wisconsin where he also participated in drag racing. He had a love for the drag strip and was an avid car enthusiast. Skip was a member of the Kenosha Legends of Drag racing. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin and Cedar Bluff Baptist Church in Princeton, Kentucky.

Skip is survived by his four children, Donald (Laurie) Oettel, Michael (Beth) Oettel, Linda (Dan) Svoboda, and Brian (Amy) Oettel; one brother, Larry (Carol) Oettel; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Skip in death is his wife, Joyce Oettel and his parents, Rudolph and Jeanette Oettel.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
