Lena Mae (Short) Mathis
July 12, 1944 — August 31, 2017
Lena Mae Short Mathis, 73, passed away Thursday, August 31st, 2017 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Lena Mae is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Jack) Englert of Hardin, Ky., and Tina (Don) Rudd of Ledbetter, Ky.; one son, Sheldon (Rose) Mathis of Reidland, Ky.; five grandchildren, Trae (Jeannie) Rudd, and Stephanie Rudd of Ledbetter, Jeffrey Mathis, Beau Mathis, and Sean Mathis of Paducah; one great grandchild, Ethan Rudd of Ledbetter; four sisters, Edna Earl Brannon, Mary Ruth Pierce, Judy Edwards, and Dorothy Hill; two brothers, Ronnie Short and Charlie Short; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Mathis; her parents, Hurtis and Lucille Short; one sister, Anna Merle Short Kendall; and one brother, Larry Short.
A memorial service will be held at 12pm at Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah Saturday, September 2nd, 2017 with Rev. Topper Council officiating. Friends may visit the family from 10 am until the service hour at Lindsey Funeral Home.
