Marianne Riggs (Riggs) McDowell

Marianne (Cricket) Riggs McDowell, 87, died peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Superior Care of Paducah.
She was retired from the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant and was a proud Augusta Tilghman High School Graduate of the Class of 1947. She was born in Paducah, Kentucky on April 15, 1929 to the late John Martin and Elizabeth Scott Riggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Vard Curtis, Jr. and her second husband, Carl McDowell.
Marianne is survived by her son Marty Curtis and wife, Sara, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; her grandson, Vard Curtis III, M.D. and wife Evy of Austin, Texas; and great grandchildren Kendall, Riggs, and Helene Curtis of Austin, Texas; her sister Monte Beth DeVillez and brother Charles Martin Riggs and wife Marie of Paducah, Kentucky; nephew Joe Wallace and wife, Betty, of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; special friends Connie Kelly and Emma Bourgois of Paducah, Kentucky; and many other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal memorial service. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to one’s own church or favorite charity.
