Mary Rust
March 16, 1925 — June 11, 2009
METROPOLIS, Ill. Mary Ellen (Perrin) Rust, 84, of Metropolis, formerly of Paducah, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Southgate Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at Maplelawn Cemetery in Paducah with the Rev. Topper Council officiating.
Mary was a member of Southland Baptist Temple. She also worked for several years at Klaussners Hosiery. Mary was a hard worker, an excellent cook, and she enjoyed working in her garden.
Mary is survived by four stepdaughters, Shirley Norsworthy and husband Harry Buddy of Paducah, Martha Seay of Sharpe, Norma Harmon and husband Kenneth of Ledbetter, and Janice Puckett and husband Howard of Paducah; and seven stepgrandchildren, Debbie Blythe, Leslie Watkins, Lori Carter, Eric Rust, Phil Joiner and Chad Puckett, all of Paducah, and Brad Norsworthy of Cadiz; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie Loren Perrin and America Elizabeth Bebout Perrin; her husband, Otey Rust; two stepsons, Robert Elroy Rust and Donald Rust; three brothers, Haskell Markey Perrin, James Stanley Perrin and Harold Cullins Perrin; two sisters, Velma Mae Myrick and Marie Inez Howard; and one stepgranddaughter, Kathy Smith.
There will be no visitation. Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
