Patricia J. English, 78, of Calvert City passed away Saturday morning, February 20, 2016.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, John; beloved mother of two daughters, Marilyn (James) Zaerr and Denice (Joseph) Cicardo; two sons, Robert (Becky) English and John (Peggy) English; and the beloved grandmother of twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, and one grandchild.
Pat was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for many years. She served as Treasurer and Past President of Kiwanis Club of South Paducah and was treasurer of the McCracken County Fair. In 1974 she founded “Pieces ‘N Patches Quilt Guild” in Steger, IL. In 1989 she opened Paducah’s oldest quilt shop, “Quilter’s Alley”. Pat was a member of various quilt and embroidery clubs and contributed to the “Home of the Brave Quilt Project”. She was a life-long learner and teacher of quilting and various needle arts. Her stumpwork and Brazilian embroidery won numerous awards.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Francis de Sales church in Paducah.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah.
