Paul Arant, 83, of Paducah passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Mr. Arant was a retired chief engineer from Ohio River Company and formerly served as a gate attendant at the Canal Campground. He was of the Baptist faith. Paul served his country in the United States Marines from 1952-1955 during the Korean War.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Sue Arant of Paducah; two sons, Mike (Karmelin) Arant of Ledbetter and Steve (DeeAnne) Arant of Mayfield; two sisters, Loretta Bailey of Louisville and Audria Crawford of Paducah; three grandchildren, Rachel Coursey of Boliver, TN, Carly Arant and Carson Arant both of Mayfield; and one great-grandson, Jaymes Coursey of Boliver, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Abel Michael Coursey; three sisters, Barbara Wyatt, Lena Belle Perry, and Joetta Whitten; and one brother, James Roy Arant. His parents were Roy Arant and Fannie Belle Arant.
A time of memories will take place at 7:00pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home, which would have been his 58th anniversary with his wife.
Friends may visit the family from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations in his honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at P.O. Box 96011 Washington, D.C. 20090-6011.
