Peggy “MeeMee” Greenlee, age 82, passed away on April 10, 2024 in Paducah, KY. She was born in Louisville, MS, to the late Arthur and Audrey Ryals.
Peggy, alongside her beloved husband Ron Greenlee, embarked on a successful career path that led them to Paducah from Tupelo, MS in 1976. Together, they established a chain of Jr. Food Mart convenience stores and later acquired several Petro locations. Following the sale of the stores, Peggy shared her kindness and expertise with the customers at Golden Carrot Natural Foods.
Known for her loving, determined, and outgoing nature, Peggy cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her husband, Ron Greenlee; daughter, Melanie Greenlee Godec; brother, Jimmy (Denise) Ryals of San Antonio, TX; sister Gail Ryals Self of Oxford, MS; grandchildren, Chelsea (Jason) Cunningham, Samantha Spedale, Tanner Sanders, and Emily Spedale; and great-grandchildren Halle Grace, Landen, Brooklyn, and Brynlie.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Greenlee Pryor; and sons-in-law Jeff Pryor and Gregory Godec.
Peggy found an immense love in her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved attending their cheer competitions and soccer games. Her hobbies included planting colorful flowers, tomatoes, and herbs, relaxing by the pool, traveling, and visiting the beach.
A visitation for Peggy will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah. Friends may also visit the family from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Lone Oak Church of Christ with a funeral service to follow Saturday at 1:00 pm at the church.
The family asks that friends wear bright colors to honor Peggy’s lively, outgoing memory. She will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
