Rachel Siress

Rachel Siress, 101, of Benton, passed away Monday evening, October 20th, at home. She was a homemaker, and a member of Lone Oak United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Siress enjoyed quilting in her spare time when she was younger.
She is survived by three daughters, Laura Jean Dowdy of Benton, Betty Erickson of Benton, and Joyce (Perry) Vaughn of Lone Oak; two sons, James “Hap” (Doty) Siress of Lone Oak and Jimmie Dale (Faylynn) Siress of Benton; three sisters, Ruby (Joe) Lovett of Mayfield, Wanda Little of Benton and Pauline Siress of Benton; fourteen grandchildren; thirty four great grandchildren; several great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Edgar Siress; her parents, Yancy and Pearl Canup Rudd; one son, Joe Thomas Siress; one grandchild, Ronnie Gordon; three brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be held at Lindsey Funeral Home on Wednesday October 22, 2014 from 5pm until 8pm and Funeral Service will be Thursday October 23rd 11am with Dr. Rick Dye officiating. Graveside will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Grandsons serving as pallbearers. Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.lindseyfuneral.com
